It won’t surprise anyone who spoke to me for more than five minutes, but I’m a fan of Doctor Who. Actually, “fan” is nice. I’m so obsessed with the show that more than one “Who” actor has an injunction to impose upon me.
The main character, the Doctor, is an alien from the planet Gallifrey. His fellow Gallifreyans are a race of super intelligent beings who have unlocked the secrets of space and time travel. But they are also condescending, believing themselves to be the best of all kinds. Emotionally, they are so stunted that Freud could make a living from psychoanalysis. Thus, the Doctor often travels on Earth, through space and time, learning compassion, becoming the protector of the Earth and its inhabitants. In other words, he has the best of both worlds.
For those of you wondering where I’m going with this, I say, “Shhh, I’m making a point. “
Let’s put that aside for a moment and discuss two services that can make life much easier for Tripwire users. And yes, I realize it was a terrible streak. Do me a favor.
Do we start with ExpertOps? Good, because that’s where I start. Basically, ExpertOps is a managed service for cloud-based and on-premises deployments. We manage the health and configuration of your deployment. You can focus on protecting your business. However, this is not a buyout. We leave the work to you, but we spend time in meetings to make sure the deployment is to your specifications and that you understand how and why we have organized things the way we have. We work for Tripwire. We report to you.
As a member of the ExpertOps family, you will be assigned to an appointed Managed Services Engineer who will ensure the program is tailored to your specific needs. After defining your compliance and security goals with your ExpertOps engineer, we’ll help you track your progress toward these goals. You will literally be able to see the value you are receiving.
The benefits are immediate. Instead of spending time, money, and effort hiring and training a team, you get a team of experts who have access to resources your business doesn’t have, and we do it for a only subscription price. It is excellent service. That’s why a Fortune 100 financial company said that Tripwire’s ExpertOps service provides “worry-free change control.”
Technical account management (TAM)
Now let’s talk about the Technical Account Management (TAM) team. But first we need to clarify something. People know what TAM engineers do for them. They probably have a TAM for most of their products. In a sense, the TAMs of other companies are a kind of sales engineer. Their main job is after-sales. Guess what? Our team is not your father’s TAM engineer (assuming your father had a TAM engineer). At Tripwire, we are so much more.
Considering the extension of the tasks we do, a lot of people confuse what TAM does with what ExpertOps does. To simplify it, ExpertOps manages your deployment. TAM manages your Tripwire experience. How do we do that? I’m glad you asked.
First, you’ll have direct access to an elite team of convenience stores with over 100 years of combined experience. A specific TAM engineer will be assigned to your account, so you won’t have to explain your Tripwire Enterprise (TE) and your network configuration every time you call. You will also have a direct line with them. No more waiting in the phone lines. Your TAM will know your deployment map inside out. Plus, you’ll get priority development support, so when it comes is one problem, you will go to the front of the line. But troubleshooting is only a small part of what TAM does.
TAM is your access to everything Tripwire related. Want a roadmap for product managers (PM)? Let TAM configure it for you. Time to upgrade? Let TAM hold your hand. Do you have a Resident Engineer (RE) or Professional Services (PS) engagement? TAM will work with them, attend meetings with them, and take care of the custom work after your PS engineer leaves. Need a feature request? Let TAM send it directly to PM and track it for you. As a bonus, if you are a TAM customer, you will benefit from priority development of feature requests.
You will also get site visits to use however you want. Do you have a technical problem and want someone on site to examine it? No problem. Want your TAM to visit to get to know your team? No problem. Do you want your TAM to deliver pizzas to you? Well, we can’t promise it’ll get there in 30 minutes or less, but of course why not? The point is, it’s your time. Do what you want with it. And the good thing is, the first visit doesn’t cost you anything extra. It is included in the TAM service. All this and more can be achieved with TAM. This is another great service.
So we have both of these great services, and either will make your Tripwire experience a treat. But it doesn’t have to be an “either” scenario. The two teams complement each other perfectly and at a reduced price. Why not have the best of both worlds? I Recount you we will get back to that statement!
Think about the great couples throughout history. Antony & Cleopatra… Romeo & Juliet… Panut Butter & Jelly… all amateurs! Pairing ExpertOps with TAM gives you back the time you spend maintaining your Tripwire deployment. Our combined forces will work together to ensure that your business compliance is in place and working the way you want it to. Most importantly, they will work with your compliance team, attend meetings to understand upcoming changes, and provide training and suggestions both onsite and remotely. As a team, your ExpertOps and TAM engineers will ensure that your Tripwire experience is not only smoother, but they will also be your advocates, getting the visibility on Tripwire that your business deserves. From fixes to new features, they will work in tandem for you and your business security needs.
It sounds good ? I thought it might. After all, when it comes to your compliance and vulnerability management, why not take the doctor’s advice and enjoy the best of both worlds? You might not be traveling in space, but you will absolutely save time.
