BUTTE – A Butte developer is ready to sell lots here in what developers say is the largest development to be built in a very long time.
“This is the largest subdivision to come to fruition in Butte in many decades. I’m not aware of a bigger subdivision in my professional career,” said Copper Fox Subdivision developer Bill Markovich.
Markovich Real Estate owns the 25 acre site off Meadowlark Lane and has 83 lots for sale which are fully serviced. Buyers can build homes on lots from 9,500 square feet to 15,000 square feet.
“I have full confidence that the subdivision will sell in 2022 with no lots left,” Markovich said.
Markovich said he thinks it will help Butte’s tight real estate market. However, that won’t do much to help those looking for affordable housing, since most homes built in the new subdivision will cost upwards of $350,000.
“Butte’s real estate market is robust. There are a lot of people who don’t get houses who want houses,” he said.
The developers say it is a family housing estate and have installed two walking paths which run from the housing estate directly to Margret Leary School just south of here.
“The city has never felt so confident; we mostly have Covid behind us, we have so much activity going on in Butte that gives us confidence,” Markovich said.
The developer will be taking reservations for the lots in the coming weeks and building permits can be applied for by July 1.
