Now that Fall Guys is free to play and streaming across Xbox and Switch as well as PC and PlayStation, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that players are flocking to servers – the game is so popular right now, to so much so that it seems to cause problems.
What is the status of the Fall Guys server? Is Fall Guys down for maintenance? These are the kinds of questions you might ask yourself if you’re having trouble getting into the game right now.
Matchmaking was an issue when Fall Guys first went free-to-play, with players waiting longer than usual for their turns to begin. Also, an error message saying “Connection Failed” also seems to do the trick.
So what’s the situation with the Fall Guys servers and can you do anything to help?
Fall Guys Server Status: Is Fall Guys down?
At the time of writing, it appears that there are still problems with the Fall Guys servers.
Whenever you want to check the status of the Fall Guys server, one place to look is Down Detector, the community-generated website where players can log any issues they’ve faced. You should be able to see if there are any major issues with the game’s servers.
If you’re ever worried that Fall Guys is down, it’s also worth checking out the official Fall Guys Twitter Accountwhere the developers are transparent enough to admit that things don’t go as planned.
After widespread server issues on the day the free-to-play game launched, Fall Guys Twitter account said, “The servers are starting to improve, but there may be some teething problems while you’re all trying to play at once.”
More recently, the account tweeted about a “haunted item causing trouble” in the Daily section of the Fall Guys store, which has since been removed.
A trace Tweeter added: “if you were booted from the game during this, you may need to try logging in a few times […] when loads of people try to get in at once it gets a little spicy but you will end up being let in dw”.
Fall Guys Error: Message Connect Failed
One particular Fall Guys error message seems to be getting a lot of attention. It reads: ‘Fall Guys failed to connect – check your connection.’
If you see this error message and you know your console/PC is well connected to the internet (you can try watching Netflix or running an internet speed test to prove it’s working), you can’t really do to get rid of this error message.
As far as we know, this error message appears when Fall Guys is having server issues of some kind. We imagine there are just too many people trying to get in on the game.
If you see the “Connection Failed” message, all you can do is wait, try to connect again, and keep trying to join the game. Eventually when the servers are running and there’s room for you, you should be able to log into Fall Guys and start playing. Enjoy!
