Minecraft Servers Down May 20
Mojang has confirmed that issues led to the Minecraft servers going down tonight, affecting many players. The news was shared on Mojang’s official support pages, with no ETA on when normal service might resume. And gamers have been sharing their own experiences on social media, confirming problems logging into accounts and playing on Java Edition.
Mojang’s latest update adds this information: “We are experiencing issues affecting Java Realms and the Launcher. We will let you know when this is resolved. Thanks for your patience.”
At this time, it is unknown when the servers will be back online, or what caused tonight’s outage on the Java edition of the game. However, it should be noted that while there are thousands of online reports covering today’s outage, it’s still a very small number of players. This means that there are still ways to access the game for the majority of players tonight. And more news should be shared by the Mojang team when normal service resumes, or if more work needs to be done on the live servers on May 20.
