WINE TOUR – June 16. The cost for members is $76. The price includes tastings, lunch and transport.
‘FROZEN’ AT PLAYHOUSE SQUARE – August 16. The cost for members is $147. The price includes the meal, the transport and the ticket.
GOALKEEPER GAMES – Alliance Area Senior Center will sponsor trips to Progressive Field in Cleveland to see the Guardians play. Tickets will cost members $114 and non-members will pay $119. All tickets will be in the Club Lounge. The price includes transportation from the senior center and a ticket. Games are at 1:10 p.m. on June 1 against the Kansas City Royals; 7:10 p.m. on June 28 against Minnesota Twins; and 7:10 p.m. on August 4 against the Houston Astros.
Other activities
VACCINE EVENT – The Alliance City Health Department is scheduling a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for second dose boosters from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Alliance Area Senior Center. This is a walk-in clinic, no appointment is required. The second booster is for people aged 50 and over who have four months off their first booster. The clinic will also offer first boosters and first and second doses. The Moderna vaccine will be administered.
WALKING LESSONS – Alliance Area Senior Center will offer a walking class for exercise. It is a good opportunity for those who have no one to walk with. Darrell Sullins Jr. of Skyhigh Fitness will lead the class on Wednesday mornings in May. Sullins graduated from Mount Union. Call the center to sign up for the walking group list.
SOAP BAGS – Carnation Stitches of Hope will host a soap bag workshop at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the center. The group will create soap bags as part of a community project. Everyone is invited to take part in the sewing or soap bag assembly workshop. Sharon will be available to assist anyone with instructions. The center accepts donations of cotton threads and bars of soap in their original packaging. Donations can be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the center.
HEARING CLINIC – The center will host a free hearing clinic from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on May 16. The tests will be carried out by the New Sound Hearing Center. Appointments are required. Call the center to make an appointment.
