If you like the elements of Pokemon Go but also an avid NBA fan, so good news. Niantic, the developer behind the hit game, is working on a new basketball game called NBA All World.
This new mobile game seeks to build on certain elements of Pokemon Go. This includes location-based stops and community aspects that require players to physically travel to specific locations.
This basically means that players will have to go out and go to certain locations in order to collect in-game items such as stamina, cosmetic items, etc. Of course, a basketball game must have PvP elements, and NBA All World is no exception.
Players will be able to compete in one-on-one matches using a sweeping mechanic to shoot the ball and more. There will also be location-specific leaderboards that will encourage players to keep coming back to the same places.
Players will also be able to meet real NBA players around the world. Often these players will be located around their hometowns and the cities in which they play. This will provide additional story and gameplay elements for players.
Overall, it will be interesting to see if NBA All World clings. Pokémon Go was hugely successful, but it was the perfect storm of gameplay, IP, and hype. Will be NBA All World can you recreate that?
