Snapchat is the service that made “passing messaging” a trend a few years ago. The app has become known for its peculiar system where messages disappear after the receiver has read them.
Snapchat is particularly popular in key territories such as the United States, overtaking Facebook Messenger for second place in the ranking of the best messaging apps in the North American country.
However, currently many Snapchat users are facing an issue where they are getting repeated failed login attempts (using the correct credentials) causing account “temporarily disabled” issue.
Snapchat “Repeated Login Failure” Causing “Temporarily Disabled” Account Error
According to several reports, Snapchat’s login system sometimes mistakenly detects users’ credentials as incorrect. This prompts them to enter the details multiple times to access the app.
Unfortunately, this results in a “temporarily disabled” account error message due to many failed attempts.
“Due to repeated failed attempts or other unusual activity, your access to Snapchat is temporarily disabled.”
This is the second time this has happened for nothing, I just added people. So they think I’m spamming I guess. It’s been 4 days that I still can’t get in. I have unlocked it on the website so many times and it says “your account has been successfully unlocked”…
…but when I try to log in it says it’s still temporarily disabled. And when I create a new account and I log out of the account, I can’t log back in, it will say that the new account is temporarily disabled.

Snapchat won’t let me log in to my account on my phone, but on another phone I can without any problems on my phone it says “Due to multiple failed attempts or other unusual activity, your access is temporarily disabled on Snapchat.” does anyone know what should I do?
Connection issue “locked” on devices, but there is a workaround
Interestingly, the affected Snapchat accounts are not actually locked, but their devices are blacklisted. In other words, they will only be able to access their account from another smartphone or PC.
He didn’t say I’m permanently banned, but he won’t let me access any of my accounts, that pisses me off. Oh but I can login to my account on my other phone. But it’s not a good device to use it’s crap. So should I buy a new phone?
This has caused affected users to fear that they will no longer be able to access their Snapchat accounts from their “locked” devices.
The good news is that there is a workaround that would help fix the problem. Unfortunately, it’s more suitable for Android devices as iOS will require access to appdb (which not everyone has experience with).
However, if you are an iOS user and want to try the workaround, the steps are as follows:
As you can see, the workaround is basically installing an older version of the Snapchat app. So, Android users just need to search for it in repositories like APK Mirror, download the APK and install it.
Before installing the previous version of the app on Android, it is recommended to clear all data and cache of the current version of the Snapchat app first and then uninstall it.
The Snapchat team doesn’t seem to be aware of the issue yet, as they’re asking for more insightful feedback from affected users.

11:22 a.m. (IST): Below is a workaround for this problem suggested by one of those affected. So if your account has been temporarily disabled, you can try it out and see if it works.

10:56 a.m. (IST): Snapchat has asked those affected to raise a ticket on their support page. And now they say the support team is processing these requests in the order they are received, so it may take a while.

Update 3 (August 12)
2:17 p.m. (IST): One of the people affected confirmed that this problem was fixed after changing the date of the phone to December 2022.
Therefore, those who are still having connection issues can try setting their phone’s date in the future as a potential workaround and see if that works.
PSA: Anyone who encounters the message “Snapchat has temporarily disabled your account” and cannot log in, follow these steps: go to date and time and set your date to December 2022, then log back in to your Snapchat. Once you’re there, reset the date to today and you’re good to go. (Source)
