The Thatch Mall is hosting an event later this month to highlight the fact that all building businesses are owned by women. In addition to the sales and prices offered by the shops in the centre, there will also be craft vendors on site.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 22.
Participating stores are Samantha’s Closet, Moonbow Apothecary & Emporium, Dabney’s at the Shop, Frozen Lounge, Art Lab Owensboro, Pixel Palace Selfie Museum, Nine Circles Tattoos and Piercing and Dorothy’s Accounting. Ten other traders will be present.
“Each business at the resort hosts their own fun and special event that day,” said Samantha Raley, owner of Samantha’s Closet. “There will be sales, raffles, giveaways and more.”
Raley, whose business will celebrate its first anniversary at the event, said the other mall owners have been there for her since day one and all go above and beyond to support each other.
“We are definitely a strong community here in Thatch, like a family,” she said. “We are constantly thinking and working together to see how we can help each other grow.”
Raley said she is grateful for the continued support from the entire community.
“The community has been amazing and has really shown up for the other girls and me here at the center,” she said. “The biggest boost is word of mouth. We have someone new here almost every day.
A masked ball at the Frozen Lounge, a bar specializing in frozen drinks, will follow the event.
