BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Brevard Veterans Memorial Center hosted a Memorial Day 2022 celebration on Monday, May 30.
The Brevard Veterans Memorial Center, located at 400 S. Sykes Creek Pkwy. on Merritt Island, behind the Merritt Square Mall, is a non-profit organization with one goal in mind…to serve our veterans.
The Memorial Day ceremony featured a very special program to honor America’s fallen heroes and celebrate the sacrifices made for our country.

DEPENDS ON VOLUNTEERS
With an amazing array of military artifacts from the Revolutionary War to our current conflicts in the Middle East, the VMC strives to educate the public about the past and present efforts of our military in our museum, library and our place free.
VMC’s Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 123 is a nationally recognized volunteer group here to assist veterans and their families with VA claims and benefits. More than 3,200 veterans were served in 2015. VMC also provides emergency assistance to eligible veterans and our facility is home to many veterans organizations.
The VMC depends on volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to support veterans services, help with our museum, work at the library, or any other function, you are welcome. Please contact the Service Manager at 321-453-1776.
Like many veterans organizations, ours is a group with many missions and has therefore split over the years into two main components.
The Brevard Veterans Council (BVC) is a 501(c)19 nonprofit and membership and operating element and the Veterans Memorial Center is the VMC 501(c) nonprofit )3 which operates the museum, plaza, library and many other veteran support programs and activities.
